Hi! I am really sorry, that I have not been around here lately and have not answered to your comments and messages. The thing is, that unfortunately my own Net connection is off-line for the time being, and so I must totally rely on the public Net computers, so I cannot be here on-line so much as before nor as much I would like to. I just want you all to know that I have not forgotten you, and I try to answer to you whenever possible.

This is our beloved Finnish Troll called RÖLLI. He belongs to the wicked trolls called Rölli and wants to very much to be just like them, an evil wicked Rölli. But unfortunately - or rather luckily - he quite does not succeed in this. In the reality, he is quite charming, intelligent and even good. Which is rather a naughty word for the Rölli Trolls.
And our Rölli the Troll has many very interesting friends. He belongs to a society called "The Weird Creatures", in Finnish "Omituisten otusten kerho".
He even falls in love with a good Wood Sprite called Milli, who belongs to the Tribe of the Spirits of the Wood. They are rather gnomish-like wood fairies.
These pictures are from the movie "Rölli and the Wood Sprite" in Finnish "Rölli ja metsänhenki". It is a fairy-tale and fantasy story for children and child-minded people. "Rölli the Troll " appeared first as a childern´s TV show, and the show and the character are really very famous and popular in Finland. There are many casettes and CDs of the Rölli Songs sung by the character figure Rölli and also many of his adventures are on tapes and discs, too. The actor of our Rölli is Allu Tuppurainen, a Finnish man who is originally from my home county, Savo, but has since moved on.

P.S. This story about the trollish Rölli and his love Milli the Wood Spirit reminds me of another Finnish fairy-tale named "Pessi and Illusia". And in my mind the best way to tell the story of Pessi and Illusia is a beautiful and melancholic old Finnish Song, sung by Tapio Rautavaara and composed and lyrics by Reino Helismaa, named in Finnish "Päivänsäde ja Menninkäinen" and translated in English as "Ray of Day and Spirit of Night".
Luckily after a search I found this song´s lyrics also in English, probably translated by a Finnish artist called Apulanta, for your delight and benefit ;-) Here you are:

When the sun finished her tour, one of her sisters lingered around: the last Ray of Day. Twilight crawled into the forest; golden-winged Ray of Day was just going to flee in front of it, when she saw little Spirit of Night coming toward her; who had just gotten up out of his cave. You see, Spirit of Night can, before the end of day, never set foot above the ground.
They looked at each other. Spirit of Night, in his chest felt a warm glow. Said: "You're burning my eyes, but, in my life, I have never seen anything as wonderful! What does it matter, though your shine blinds me; it's good living in the dark. Come with me, then I'll show you the way to my home cave, and take you there as my lover."
Ray said: "My dear troll, darkness takes my soul away, and I don't desire death. Away I have to go quickly; if I don't soon fly toward the light, I can not live any moment longer!" Thus left beautiful Ray of Day, but still, while Spirit of Night walks in the dark, he thinks: "Why is here one a child of the light, and loves the other the night?"
I have also once played a role of a Wood Spirit named "Blueberry" in a LARP - a live-action-role-playing game - based on the world of the Rölli. It was real fun! To play to be in reality a fantasy fairy-tale figure, a Wood Spirit, and to immerse myself for a moment into fantasy world, all safely.

The old stories about the persecution of the Jews and other minorities in the Nazi Germany have always spooked and freaked me out. And the worse still it became when I realized that I myself am a Pagan and a Witch and reaed about the terrible things done by the Inquisition and the Burning Times. They really make me scared and given nightmares.
And the terrible thing isn´t even over and done with and dead yet. The Christian fundamentalists evidently aren´t satisfied with the history, but are just burning to repeat the old atrocities all over again. I must say, that I am very worried, and not the least scared. In the same time there are ever more and more Pagans and they are getting the more and more positive press coveradge, in the main. More and more Pagans are not afaid to come out from the broom closet. I am afraid that there seems to be coming an open confrontation of a sort or another, and this process seems to me be headeng toward the great culmination.
I hope with all the mighty of my heart that the humankind would learn from it´s own past. But I am afraid it is not going to...
Sorry for the gloominess of this blog. It is just that these things just keep coming into my mind today, and I cannot help it or ignore them. On well, this just is one of those days, it seems...
Oh, well, here I am again for the long last. Well, I am not quite sure how this blog posting really works in this "Publish To" thing, so I am sorry if I mess this up, I hope you don´t mind this.
Well, finally the summer has really come here in Finland, too, I have noticed. The rowan trees has already blossomed but not so much as in the last couple of years, I fear there won´t be so many rowan berries this year. But I have always connected the really lovely and beautiful rowan blossoms to the June and Litha. There is a really lovely Russian song about the Uralian Rowan which says something like that the rowan blossoming is like a summer bride in her lovely white veil.
It has been really warm and sunny for the couple of weeks, but now it is raining and cloudy and not quite so warm. But the the nature is still into it´s full bloom and very verdant and green and all the birds and animals are ever so busy. I just love the bird song, very often I shut my radio down and just listen to the busy bird chirping.
I am a little out of sorts and moody today, with no apparent reason. I am very sleepy and tired and don´t even like to read, which is quite unusual for me. Oh, well, maybe I should have a really good night´s sleep and rest. And even more important, clarify and cleanse my mind of off whatever it is bothering me. And I probly should try to do some serious dream interpretation.
